Abraham Lincoln used 286 words for his Gettysburg Address. Our nation’s founders used 1,300 words for the Declaration of Independence. The U.S. government used 26,911 words to regulate the sale of cabbage. When God sent the ultimate message for humanity to know him and receive life from him, he used one word.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” (John 1:1-2)
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
“No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.” (John 1:18)
(THE WORD MADE FLESH by Adam Howie)
Jesus the Messiah, the Son, is the complete and final message from God to humanity. Nothing else is. Absolutely nothing else is the complete and final message from God.
“The Word became flesh.” The Son became human. God spoke the Word in our language. We can understand the meaning of the complete and final message from God.
We are celebrating the day “the Word became flesh.” Listen…
Prayer: “Word from God, speak today. Speak to me. My ears, my mind, my soul are listening. Voices and noises, ideas and opinions, arguments and debates clamor. I must hear you.”
