LincolnThanksgivingProclamation

Here is an explanation of Abraham Lincoln’s proclamation for the nation “to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.”  As the President mentions, the country was embroiled in the Civil War, yet he recognized the blessings that were being experienced at the same time!  May we be able to see God’s blessing in our own lives in 2015 and offer him thanks and praise.

When you read Lincoln’s proclamation, what stands out to you?

Have a grateful Thanksgiving!
